There are many complex challenges facing Maine's people and Maine's economy and literally thousands of dedicated nonprofits, staff, boards and volunteers addressing those challenges.
Given this reality, Common Good Ventures is working simultaneously to...
- strengthen high potential individual organizations to deliver more and better results, raise standards and lead by example and...
- help develop collaborations between nonprofits and highly functional networks of the nonprofit, public and private sector actors who could make a major impact if working more in concert and leveraging their respective strengths.
With this two pronged approach we believe we can make a major lasting impact on two issues that directly affect Maine's economy:
- the number of Maine's 18-24 year olds who are either productively working or in school
- the percentage of Maine's seniors who are able to remain safely in their homes as they age
