How Business Advisors Work
Common Good Ventures Business Advisors are highly experienced business professionals who volunteer their knowledge and acumen through short-term, highly focused projects for Maine nonprofits. These outcome-specific assignments could include developing due diligence protocols for nonprofit mergers and acquisitions, helping with the bidding process and implementation of an IT network, or thinking through strategic or tactical aspects of other business challenges that nonprofits face.
Common Good Ventures devotes significant up-front focus and on-going time throughout the project to ensure that each Business Advisor-nonprofit match is a "fit" and that the experience is fulfilling and valuable for all involved. Business Advisors work alone or in small teams mentoring and guiding nonprofit organization leaders. Their assignments typically require two or fewer hours a week and range in length from two to six months.
