History:

1998: Incorporated by co-founders Ted Regan and Aaron Frederick 

2004: Purchase of Cow Island

2006: Addition of adult programs

2009: Departure of  last founder, new Executive Director hired

Organizational Structure:

Rippleffect is governed by a board of directors.  The year round staff includes an Executive Director, an Island and Adult Program Manager, a Youth Program Director and an Administrative Assistant.  There are two staff serving for eight months responsible for island maintenance and serve as lead guides, a cook and an assistant, a corps of eight students who maintain facilities on Cow Island and work in the community, and a pool of fifteen Maine guides who staff core youth programming.

Demographics: Rippleffect serves youth (ages 10-18) from Southern Maine through open enrollment and school programs, adults from all income and gender backgrounds through social service partnerships, corporate leadership training and adult recreation from Southern Maine with the core in the greater Portland area.

Growth Goal: Diversify and strengthen our funding base in order to expand services to meet the evolving needs of Maine youth.
