About Us
As a nonprofit ourselves, we at Common Good Ventures understand that tough economic times are doubly tough for nonprofits - bringing increased need for services just when funding is becoming more difficult to obtain. We understand that, for mission-driven organizations, cutting back on core services when they are needed most is not a viable option. We are experts at helping you build your organization's capacity to make the best possible use of your resources.
Common Good Ventures offers nonprofits a full range of capacity-building services. We can help you:
- Clarify your mission
- Create or revisit your strategic and business plans
- Develop your staff and board
- Pursue collaborative and earned income opportunities
- Measure and evaluate program outcomes
- Tighten process controls
- Evaluate and implement appropriate technologies
At Common Good Ventures we offer a continuum of services, ranging from long-term one-on-one coaching to shorter-term engagements to hour-and-a-half Springboard brainstorming sessions. We encourage - and have in-depth experience facilitating - collaborations between individual organizations.
Since its founding in 2000, Common Good Ventures has helped over 150 Maine nonprofit clients increase their capacity to carry out their missions. Our work is funded by generous foundations, individuals, corporations - and by our nonprofit clients themselves.
